Privacy policy
Sunquest Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 50 693 467 391) trading as Astrion Energy handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
When you request a quote we collect your name, email address, phone number, postcode, state, property type, the products you're interested in and any details you choose to give us. To design a system we may also collect your electricity account details, meter number (NMI), interval consumption data, site photos and roof imagery. We do not seek sensitive information and ask that you don't send it.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, design and quote a system, obtain distributor and metering approvals, assign small-scale technology certificates, deliver and support the installation, meet our record-keeping and compliance obligations, and — only where you opt in — send you occasional updates about rebates and offers.
Who we disclose it to
We share only what is necessary, and only with: our accredited installers and electricians; your electricity distributor and metering coordinator where an approval is required; registered agents involved in certificate creation; equipment manufacturers for warranty claims; and our IT, hosting and email service providers. Some providers may store data outside Australia; where that occurs we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protections apply. We never sell your personal information and never supply it to third-party lead-generation brokers.
Information collected during a project
Once you proceed, we may also collect and hold your electricity bills, site and installation photographs, roof and switchboard imagery, electronic signatures, system and monitoring information, certificate assignment paperwork and any other information reasonably required to perform our contract with you. Where reasonably necessary to deliver the job or meet a legal or regulatory obligation, this may be disclosed to appropriately authorised installers, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, accredited certificate providers, independent finance providers (only where you choose to apply for finance), electricity network providers and metering providers. This mirrors the privacy clause in our supply and installation terms.
Our virtual quote tool
Our virtual quote tool is hosted and operated by GreenSketch, an independent solar design provider, on its own platform. When you use it, the address you enter and any contact details you provide are collected by that provider under its own privacy terms and disclosed to us so we can review your design and prepare a quote. We receive the design output, your address and your contact details. From the moment that information reaches us it is handled under this policy. If you would rather not use the tool, you can call us or use our contact form instead — you will get the same quote either way.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the software we use to run our business — including email, customer records and the virtual quote platform — may store data on servers outside Australia. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the provider handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Marketing and consent
We only send marketing email or SMS if you opt in, consent is never bundled with your quote request, and every message has a working unsubscribe that we action promptly. We respect the Do Not Call Register, and we will always use your contact details for operational matters about your job — bookings, approvals, safety and warranty — even if you have opted out of marketing.
Anonymity and consequences
You can browse this site and ask general questions without identifying yourself. We cannot design a system, obtain distributor approval or assign certificates without your name, address and site details, so those are required if you want a quote.
Security and retention
Enquiry and project records are stored in access-controlled systems. We keep records for as long as needed to service you and to meet legal, warranty, tax and scheme record-keeping obligations, then destroy or de-identify them. If a data breach likely to cause serious harm occurs, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses only the cookies and local storage needed for the site to function. If we introduce analytics or advertising cookies in future, we will update this policy and seek consent where required before they are set.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by emailing admin@sunquestsolar.net or calling 1300 404 510. We will respond within a reasonable period, normally 30 days. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information or your privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
